I have an assembly in parametric 2.0 mechanism that is giving me trouble. It is similar to the cam mechanism inside a clicking pen and I am not sure how to go about making the two interact. When I push/ drag the blue cam down, guided by the slides in the clear coupler, it is supposed to push down the red cam and the spring will cause it to twist to the next location, like in a pen. However, I cannot set up the connection for the two cams. When I try to select the geometry for the cams (the helical surfaces) it cant be recognized and says "please select cam geometry." So, I tried to round the edges to make it one continuous surface, but this didn't work either? Any ideas what I can do here?

Cant figure out why the picture wont post, but it is on this forum too:
