I'm having trouble trying to use the cam mate. I'm trying to create a ratchet style stop for a rotating shaft. I have modeled a sort of sprocket that is on the shaft and then an arm with a pin on it that will fall into the teeth of the sprocket so that when the shaft stops turning it will not be able to turn backwards. I want to be able to see the motion of this is SW but it will not let me use the cam mate since everything is not tangent. Any ideas?

You have to use Fit spline. The faces have to be a one continous surface. If you made the entire sketch of the sprocket area in one sketch (Which you will need too) Use Fit spline (in your Sketch Toolbar) This will make a single surface and then Cam mate will be available.
