CAM tool from dxf, holder from imported 3d 1

As most of tools and toolholders geometry is available their vendors' site, I am looking for a way to import and use it. Is there a way to do that?

Mark Rief wrote code to allow you to define a tool holder from curves or a solid. There is probably something similar for tools, but I don't know.

Here is the link for Mark's post in the Siemens forum; it's been reposed a couple times and is a great time saver. Keep in mind this process is for creating parametric tools for the tool library, not for creating the detailed prt assemblies for tools which can show the entire tool including inserts, clamp screws, retention knobs, etc-. Follow the instructions explicitly and it works great! I have used this method for many Schunk and HPI holders with great success. By the way this process allows using either solid or curve data for importing.

Thanks guys. I saw a video about importing tool assemblies, but in a workshop, cnc operators change the overhang of the tool according to the job. This journal by Mark is what common cam user needs.
