I was thinking about this when I last used SW properly 10+ years ago and as I'm getting back into it I thought I may as well ask the question.
As I'm doing a kitchen up in solidworks I would like to have a couple of custom part features that suit certain hardware (eg blum hinge and hinge mount) and was thinking instead of actually inserting the parts is there a way of have the feature required to be used for said part tell the bill of materials whats required to complete the units.
The feature(S)are required for cnc positioning (obviously) but the hinges and mounts because the way they fit never changes are not really required.
Maybe even have configs of the feature which simply refer to different type s of hinges ( the actual drilling does not change)
Hope this is clearer than mud
and as all ways (russian accent) have a nice day
