I have always confused of the differnces between all the elastomers esp HYPALON ,Silicone ,FKM .

Seems like all the company are using Slicone FKM to make rubber rollers ,rubber compoudings rather than HYPALON ?

So where is HYPALON mainly used ? Despite the discontinution of Dupont's Hypalon ,there are some companies still producing it ,so why HYPALON is now commonly describled as special rubber ?

Why is it special ? What area is mainly used as speical /?

Thanks for advices .

CSM is known for its sensitivity to heat and I remember vaguely that is has some kind of temperature history (it may have cooled down, but it "remembers" that it has received x energy).
There were more variances in the starting material then for other types of elastomers. Zinc which is used very often in rubbers, is a poison for CSM and this sometimes requires extra care or cleaning.

We use only small amounts still for special parts (higher temperature or chemical resistance, but below HNBR and FKM price range).
