Can I apply a weight to a CATPart?

I have a CATPart, which is an electronic connector. I don't have all the geometry and internal components modeled, but I do know the weight of the part. Can I apply a weight, instead of a material, to a part?

if its a solid, and you know the volume, you could apply a user-defined "fake density" to make the weight come out to the right value.

Why not just set up a custom material, with the proper density? (but none of the other physical properties)

Why are you trying to add weight before you finish the part?

I think his desire is to not finish the part, but to just use the exterior shape. We do this a lot for packaging electronic components, actuators etc in our systems. Our supplier will send us the outside shape of the component and we'll use that to fit into our package envelope. We don't care about the circuit boards, wiring etc inside the part, just the space the part takes up. We then do as albigger suggested and use a 'fake density' to get the correct mass in our system. Unfortunately, this doesn't always give us the correct center of gravity for the part/system, but its typically close enough for our needs.
