Dear all,

For a project that i'm participating, it is required to the pressure vessel to be NACE Certified MR0103. The vessel is completely in SS 316.

For the plates we could find the material already certified, on the other hand, for the drain pipe (1") and flanges we couldn't find it.

Facing this, one idea could be to certify this material together with a third party.

Is it possible to do? In this case, which tests should we prepare? Just the hardness test under 22HRC is enough?

Kind Regards.

hi
you will find the required information by reading the sections of the document NACE MR0103 dedicated to austenitic stainless steels.
from memory : 22HRC, no element addition for machinability, no cold deformation... (to be confirmed by reading NACE document)
regards

Dear Chumpes,

Yes, i read that part on NACE, but my point is that: there is a third party that can make this service and emit a certificate, or do we need to do all the tests by our own?

Up to now, i didn't find anyone that could performe this service.

Kind Regards.

Why not send an MTR to the user showing that the material meets the chemical requirements, hardness and condition required by MR0103 and let them decide?
