Can I make a region of a work piece eulerian?

Hey all, I'm trying to create an orthogonal cutting simulation and I want the chip formation zone to be eulerian while the rest stays lagrangian. I attempted to specify a eulerian boundary condition/boundary region on the desired region but got the following error: "Eulerian boundary can only be specified on faces of eulerian elements." Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
