Hello guys,

I have one SS vessel, code stamped as per edition 2017 for some design condition with -60 degree F MDMT, temperature. Order was placed by client in oct-2018 & delivery was in March 2019, but for some reason, client didn't collected the material and cancelled the order in in may 2019.

This was the case.

Now,
Some other client demands the exact ss vessel with code stamping. Their only change is in MDMT, that is -150 degree F. I have checked the design and the equipment is completely ok.

My question is,
1) can I sell this equipment with 2019 code stamping by making changes in MDR/documents ( engineering & quality) and name plate. ?
2) {tough question} if code / code interpretation suggests anything for this kind of case. ?

Thanks

Thanks,

Rajput

RAJPT89, (1) does the vessel in all respects (aside from paperwork) meet the 2019 Edition? If so, I'd say it is a matter of agreement among the parties, (2) no idea.

Consult with your AI.

Regards,

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

This would likely come under the NBIC as a Rerate. Your vessel would remain stamped with the Data Forms per the 2017 edition but confirm with your AIA.
