Hi,

I have a small doubt - can we have different type elements between same nodes. E.g. Can I have beam element between two nodes and also one of the edges of shell element between the same nodes?

In Abaqus I created beam elements between all the required nodes. Now to create a panel structure connecting these beams, when I am creating a shell element between four nodes of structure, the previously created beam elements are disappearing only between those nodes.

I am not sure in the first place if multiple elements can exist between same nodes.

Any suggestions / ideas will be greatly helpful.

Regards

Yes they can. Just think about the DOF between different elementtypes when you do it.
In CAE you can turn on "render beam/shell profiles" to see your beams again.

sdebock, thank you. Yes, it works. Shells are covering the beams, though rendered!!
