Can you break a spline down into its individual component arcs?

I have received a .dwg file, which i have imported into a solidworks part. It has several long very complicated splines, instead of arcs and straight lines. Is it possible to break this spline up into its individual components, from point to point?

Cheers,

MJ

MJ,

right-click on the spline and go to Split Entities. You can also add the split entities icon to your sketch toolbar by going to Tools-Customize-Sketch.

Perhaps I'm incorrect, but doesn't that just break it up into smaller spline sections? I also would like to be able to break a spline up into an approximation using arcs and lines... can it be done?

bbrian,

What you could do is give all the spline entities a fixed relationship so they don't move, then convert the entities to construction geometry. Now you can use the spline points to create 3 point arcs. there may be a better way but this is what I have done in the past for this scenario.
