Canadian vs American Codes

Anyone have any suggestions on how to go about learning the American design codes?
What are the major differences vs the Canadian codes?

Read the commentaries.

S16 often dips into the AISC research and then makes modifications based on units, LSD, or the CISC's direction at the code cycle. A23 tends to draw heavily from the ACI code. Any empirical equation will be modified for units. I'm not sure how O86 would differ from NDS.
