Cannot assign element type

hey all,

i'm new to abaqus and i'm currently stucked because i couldn't select any surfaces or regions to assign my element type.
anyone out there can help me with it?
Please please please..


ABAQUS didnt prompt me to select the surface, the assign element dialog box pop up once i click that icon or function.
Please please help me.
