Im trying to create a drawing of a large assembly but when i choose my assembly drawing template and click OK NX freeze and nothing happens. This is my top level assembly and i got many assembly drawings of subassemblies to this one. If i choose one of our part drawing templates it does not freeze but then i got myself a bunch of other problems.

I have tried Part Cleanup with different settings but still i have the same problem.

Try loading the assy with load option = no components. Then load the components one by one in the ant and see where the problem occurs. Also make use of the lightweight representation, this can make a difference in loading time.

Im using NX6.0. Is "load option = no components" same as "structure only" because i cannot find "no components". When i choose "structure only" i can load components one by one but no problem occurs. Every component loads fine.

Yes it's the same. So if you load the component one by one in your ant using your drawing template there is no problem, can you make a view?
If yes, place the view and do a save as (revision 1-01 to 1-02 or your companies revision rule). See if the problem is still there by creating another dwg.
Another question, are you using conventional method or master-model principal?

Another question is hardware related. Are you on 32-bit or 64-bit and if 64-bit, do you have 4GB+ of memory?
Is NX running out of memory, if on 32-bit? Use task manager to check.

MickyV007, i misunderstood your instructions. When i load the assembly with "structure only" i still cannot create my drawing using my template. There are a couple of linked bodys visible in my assembly when i load with "structure only"

My advice would be to compare the two templates preferences and look specific for update linked body or update stucture.
Start in drafting module then preferences then assemblies preferences and make the check boxes the same (part templ to assembly templ).

Best regards,

Michaël.
