Our company is trying to obtain .001" concentricity on our 5" wheels. We are currently using 20% Polycarbonate and achieving .005" at best.

Is there an alternative polycarbonate material that will give us better results?

Is this more than a material issue?

Thank you!

I presume you mean 20% glass fibre reinforced polycarbonate.

More glass will help so long as the tool is sharp, but the glass will quickly dull the tool. Mineral filler might help, particularly if it is not so hard so as to dull tools.

Use very sharp tools with good back clearance and shallow attack angles so it does not tend to dig in.

Take very shallow final cuts and slow feed so that you do not push the material around and cause distortion as you cut.
