Hi,

I asked a question about how to create a continuous channel on the inner face of a cylinder, which was answered by mmauldin (Bioengineer). However, I was not able to repeat the thicken step, and it keeps giving me error. Could somebody let me know what I have done wrong? I've been working on this question for some time but still couldn't figure it out.

I attached the part from mmauldin (Bioengineer)below, and will attach my part in the comment.(It doesn't allow me to upload 2 part files in the same post)

Thank you!

When you have created the Divide face, there is this offset region...
Why is that? You can directly apply the Thicken at the resulting face from the devide.
I tried in your part and it works

I tried, it still doesn't work for me. It seems like I can't pick just one face from divided faces, every time I try to thicken, and I pick the channel face, it automatically pick other 6 faces(I guess it's the total number of faces on the cylinder body ), I thought I may need to turn off a "propagation" button, but couldn't find it. Do you have any thoughts?

Thank you!

YOU CAN'T 'THICKEN' ONLY A PORTION OF A FACE! However, as Ronald stated, you can use 'Offset Region'.

Make sure that your selection intent rule is set to "single face". I'd guess that when you tried it was set to "body faces" and that is why it selected all the faces in the cylinder.
