I recently upgraded to Norton 2003, BIG mistake
ACAD 2002 quit working, and I tried re-installing, with no luck. Finally found out that Norton 2003 has known compatibility issues with ACAD 2002 amoung others. There is a free dll fix on the ACAD web site, but I had already uninstalled ACAD2000 and removed Norton! I got ACAD2000 re-registered, and tried to upgrade to 2002 again, but the cd freezes up, after the files are copied and the system starts to upgrade. When this happens, I can cancel the upgrade (resume later) but ACAD2000 won't work anymore! When I remove ACAD2002 it tries to finsh the install, but only has a cancel button. To get ACAD working again I have to remove 2000, and the ACAD2000 directory, and re-install!
Got it to work once and opened 2002 to register it, but it still had the 2000 serial number, so the registeration code would not work and had to start over again. Finally gave up after 5 re-installs and am content with ACAD 2000, but all my dwg files still have the 2002 icon. I am out of ideas, and getting tired of uninstlling ACAD and re-installing it! Any suggestions?

I also had many problems with NAV 2002 and Win2k when I purchased NAV about a year ago over the internet. After many emails with Symantec and 4 downloads of 20Mb we finally got it working as promised.

I also do not trust AV programs that run in the background. I only scan emails and run a full system scan at scheduled off-peak times.

I guess it turned out that my ACAD 2002 upgrade cd was faulty. I tried a different copy and everything worked alright. It created a new directory ACAD2002, that wasn't there the last time, but still registered correctly. Had some problems with customized buttons (lots of little smiley sunglass wearing dudes) but just made new bitmaps for them. After a week without ACAD, I don't think I'll ever use Norton again!
