Cantilever Method on Textbook

Hiya! I stumbled upon the following cantilever method on a reinforced concrete textbook but I feel like the moment equation has been weird and could not figured out why.

To my understanding if the author is taking summation of moment at point s and taking the 5.25kN(Clockwise) moment as positive, shouldn't N2 causes counter clockwise moment and hence will be negative, which is correct for P x 10 and 4P x 16. Is there something I am missing here.
