A client has asked me to evaluate the capacity of an existing section of track that consists of 90 lbs. rails, wooden ties, and rock ballast. Where can I find guidance on determining the maximum rail car loading that can be allowed on this siding rail?

The AREMA manual should give you the rail to car capacities you are seeking.
