Hi all,

I have a 3-axis IGES file that was converted from raw sections taken from a 3D optical scanner.

While I've found how to merge all three axes in one drawing, I'm finding it very difficult to create a surface using these mesh points.

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks,
Mark

Some versions of SW have something called "Scan to 3D", which allows you to convert a pointcloud to a surface.

If it can patch surface defect in the scanned data i don't know. Maybe this functionality in SW is too limited for serious use, i don't know, never heard much about it for some reason.

Check out youtube "scan to 3D solidworks".

That's you're only option with SW.
