Greeting,

I am presently working on an applications that involves packaging carbon black. I don’t have a lot of experience with this product and I wish to know if anybody could answer some of my questions. I would be discharging a railcar into a bin inside our building, and then package the product into valve bag with an air packer.

So here my questions:

Electrical zoning, enclosure type needed (nema)?
Dust explosion protection required, MIE, Kst?
Type of conveyor usually use?
Any special features needed for the air packer?
Features needed to avoid dust, any specific type of dust collector?
Is it preferable to build a pit underside the railcar in order to discharge it?
Flowability of carbon black in bin/railcar, angle for bin needed?
Compatibility of carbon black with other material: steel, plastic…?
Different measures often used to contain the dust within the packaging area?

Thank you for your help.
