Firstly my apologies if this is a repeat question and it causes inconvenience to anyone here.

I have 18 years experience in the oil and gas industry, B.Eng degree and a P.Eng status here in Alberta (just a month ago). I sat down to think about my career "enhancement" options for sometime, what I really liked to do, and decided to find out more about the following:

- career as an AI (i.e independent or with some boilers/pressure vessel insurance companies etc.)
- career in the facilties Insurance Industry (for exmaple the insurance companies responsible for entire facilties and not just limited to boilers and pressure vessels)

Can someone please shed somelight here? I really do need some advise and will appreciate it.

Thanks.

Have you considered working for ABSA (Alberta Boiler Safety Association), your province's "jurisdiction" for pressure vessels? Their people include design reviewers, as well as vessel inspectors. Appear to be some current openings and there may be some unlisted openings
