In our sulfur plant, we have a sulfur degasser to remove the H2S in the product sulfur to 5ppm.

We frequently encounter liquid sulfur carryover to the downstream thermal oxidizer which cause a serius environmental problem.

We install two level switchs(High and High High level) in this column, but it is easy to fail. So the operator do not know that liquid sulfur has flooded the column and run with the H2S vapor.

Is there any solution for this problem?

Has this always been a problem or something that has been slowly getting worse? If it is been geeting worse with time your tower may be fouled up with sulfur causing your tower to flood prematurely. If it was always a problem then maybe your tower needs to be redesigned for capacity. We have a procedure to help identify foulimg, flooding and finding optimum rates for a tower.
