Cartridge heater system

I am working on a rapid heating device to eliminate the need to preheat in an oven. I have the thermal aspect of the design figured out, but I am unsure how to go about electrical component selection.

My understanding is that I will need a power supply to supply 12 250W catridge heaters, some temperature control system and relays for turning the heaters on and off. I could also just eliminate the temp controller and have a on/off switch to turn the heater on until the correct temp is reached. Does anyone know of any resource that would help put together such a system? It seems like it is more complicated than just hooking up a correctly sized power supply to the cartridge heater with no other components.

Also, this is my first post and am unsure I am in the right place.

Simple sounding but ovens are not that simple. Sure you can "hook up everything" and throw the switch but that usually gets you burned out heaters, burnt product, fires, short life, etc, etc.

Most ovens have safeties for over-temperature protection. Electrical fusing for short circuit protection. And a controller to profile and regulate the temperature. Also, some way to physically control the power to the elements, its choice and type is often very important for good life time and reasonable control. Whatever is being heated needs to be understood so the proper configuration can be chosen.

tHERE ARE 2kW heating elements readilly available. Use one (or 2) of those, with a 2nd thermostat and contactor, with the thermostat set for the lowest temperature you are likely to use. A 3rd thermostat, set at a slightly higher temperature would be advisable as a safety. Test both, regularly.
