Hi guys,

I am looking for a standard, which specifies the valve body markings such as manufacturer logo, size, pressure, heat number etc. Is it an MSS standard?

Since most of our valves are manufactured in china.
It is a big challenge to us giving them instructions of our logo and marking sizes proportionate to the valve size.

Most of the times, we find our logo welded on to the body and when it is cast, there is a big mismatch in size and also quality compared to size and pressure markings.

Please help me with suggestions to deal with this problem in a better way.

Thanks in advance.

MSS SP-25 is titled Standard Marking System for Valves, Fittings, Flanges and Unions.

Not too raise a potentially touchy subject but if you have problems getting them to meet your requirements for markings, do you have problems getting them to meet other much more important technical requirements such as metallurgy, mechanical properties, dimensions and tolerances ... just a thought

Find a different supplier; or provide the manufacturing process used when made in the first world.
