casting of surface bed: best solution?, three options?

Good Day

I was wondering what would be the most practical solution for the casting of a surface bed. The critical question relates to the intersection of the wall (outside wall). Different solutions have different pros and contras. Maybe I oversee there something but this is what I observe:

A. casting afterwords, create a small EJ to the wall, but doesn't give a working platform for building upt he walls

B. casting during the building up of wall, creates a nice working platform the for scaffolding, allows some setting out corrections on the walls above (internal walls)

C. same as B but allows you even to score the side shuttering.


Is then option C not the best one? The most practical one?

I like A. Less potential for slab cracking and the desired sequence of construction often has the slab poured after the walls and roof are up.

yes true but then it is also more difficult to access the area for casting where by the option B and C can be easily cast with a pump for example in one go

I may not properly understand the situation here. What is it that you're casting in the slab here? Is this tilt-up concrete?

This question tends to be governed largely by the construction sequencing and the subgrade material parameters.

What is meant by the term "surface bed", which is not a usual structural engineering term? Is this just a typical slab on ground, or does it have a special purpose?

Is it a surface "bed" - a separate, usually very deep reinforced platform made of concrete to support a piece of rotating machinery - if so, that bed should NOT be cast integrally with the walls and edges.

or just the inside slab for a building?

here by us "south africa" a surface bed is basically the floor slab which is cast on the compacted ground.
Usually what they do here is: they build up the walls on the strip foundations and then later they cast the "surface bed" between the walls in each room. This technic differs very much to the usual technics in Europa or America
