rww88, what is your Code of construction? No Cat E in ASME Sec VIII, Div. 1. Are you getting this from a client spec maybe?

I was conducting some research in Division 2 and noticed that, unlike Division 1, it contained a Category E weld to cover non-pressure containing attachment welds. That immediately begged the question: How, if at all, should non-pressure containing attachment weldw be categorized in Division 1? Any thoughts on this?
 
They are not categorized as far as I know.
