Cathodic Protection and Static Grounding 1

Hello friends.

First off I want to preface my post with the fact that my field is electrical and I have very little experience with cathodic protection.

I got this "simple" question from a client, who asked the following question:
"Does the static grounding of an underground storage tank interfere with the cathodic protection?"

If yes, is there a specific reason why?
Or are there specific situations that will cause it to interfere that would have to be avoided?
Does anyone have any input to share in regards to this? I would like to both give a correct answer and also for my own benefit understand this topic better.
Any input is appreciated. Thank you for your help!

Right forum.
Reasonable question don't why there aren't any answers.
As far I know from my limited knowledge from Cathodic Protection textbooks, static grounding should not in general interfere with cathodic protection after there are millions of tanks and they'd near all be grounded and cathodically protected. However if the static grounding was badly sited near an electrical source such as high voltage lines then it might interfere- such an electrical source such as the power for subways is a case study in induced corrosion of underground tanks.
