catia 4 under windowsxp 1

Hello is it possible that i can run catia 4 under a windows based pc? Could anyone tell me where i can look for an catia version on the web........ I would help me alot because i just started to work with catia4 and can't practice athome.

Nope. Catia 4 is UNIX only. Sorry.

You can, however, run V4 on a Unix Workstation using a PC as a Terminal. Look into ReflectionX or Humming Bird Exceed.

But I can't install Catia V4 !!!

Is it possible to install catia V4 on this syst ?

Catia V4 requires an alpha-based platform.

Intel won't work.

I've heard you can buy some used Unix workstations pretty cheap. And I'm sure you can 'borrow' a copy of the CATIA software CD.

But, where are you going to get the V4 license? Is your company supplying that?

Just stay at work an extra hour or two everyday to practice.

2Hours/day to learn Catia V4? I don't think that is enough !!
I am working with Catia V5 which is easier than V4

V4 is completly different !

Our V4 Basic class was 60 hours. That was just to get started. Drafting was another 40. Surfacing 10. etc, etc, etc.

you can use Unix applications (e.g., V4) remotely on a Win machine, through an X term (e.g., Exceed). If your machine is outside of the unix network, things can get complicated (i.e., licence issues etc).
