Is it possible to section just one component in an assembly of multiple components?
Thanks

in 2D Drafting Section Views? In properties of each instance, there is a tab for Drafting, "Do not cut in section views"

in 3D you choose in Selection (of the definition tab in the Sectioning tool) the instances you want to cut.

LWolf,

I'd like (for instance) to show the sectioning of all components except the one placed in the blue circle..........

How could I do it?
Thanks!

I seem to have a stronger license...

That's OK.
It looks like my license has less capabilities.
At least, I got the lesson from you.

Thanks a lot!

If I remember well it is possible to save the 3D section output but I don't remember exactly how.
You could combine this output from 3D section with the product that you don't want to section and you will get the result.

It might be that although you don't have the license, you could achieve with macros the missing functionality from LWolf example. You could check for it.

you have to select all the element you want to section before you call the section command

In my case I select the cylinder part first... the cube part is not selected

Hi.

I do not have the license of "DMU Space Analysis 2 (SPA)".
But, if use a macro, you can create a section even without a license.

All Japanese, but here is the sample source code.
Create a large number of cross sections in a short time.

Kantoku, I saw the video from the link description, really nice. How do you deal performances issue? How can you generate so many elements so quick?

Hi iscariot.

I'm sorry, I am not good at English, so I may be misunderstanding.

· After executing the macro, click the curve that becomes the guide curve (spine).
· Enter section number in Input Box.
· Create a new CATProduct and create CATPart (sketch) for the cross section in it.
 (This is unsaved)

Also, in order to execute this macro, this library is necessary.

Please put it in the same VBProject under the name "KCL.bas".
