I'd like to help out our stress group by creating FEA models of typical joints around our wing structure. Typically 3 i-beams meet and are fastened together with back to back clips. The problem is, the stress analysist cannot predict how much of the global loads at each joint is passing thru the clips and we are finding ourselves beefing up these clips to bathtub fittings to be on the safe side. One analysts thinks that all these joints need to be modeled and run through Nastran/Patran. Can the load path be predicted with Catia FEA? I understand that as a novice FEA user I could easily produce garbage. I'm hoping to to reproduce the results from Nastran/Patran for the one joint they have run first.
