I'm working in V5 R26 Sp5, and it's been a while since this is happening. I decided today to post this thread to understand what happens...
A few months ago, I was running CATIA in win 10. While I have open a CATPart, sometimes I'm unable to use macros (Catscript, vba, vb.net), they simple don't interact with catia. The strange thing is that, if while is happening this strange behavior, I open a CATProduct, macros start to interact again with CATIA. Someone suggest me to downgrade to Win7, but problem remains... The weird thing, is that it isn't happening all the time, but happens sporadically, one time for each 2 or 3 hours. But it's really painful, for making them to work again, I need to reboot CATIA. For big designs, i can loose about 15 20 minutes to reboot catia, and open the design again.

Any idea to solve this?

What do you mean by "they don't interact with catia". Is that the CATIA application cannot be retrieved, or what?

Is CATIA installed or deployed and registered? Can you rollback to GA (uninstall the SP5) and check?

For example, i have a few catscript to "paint" faces, features, bodies... Those macros paints everything that is selected, and macro tells that nothing is selected. I tried to debug the code and definitly for macro selection.count=0 Catia.activeDocment=empty. Then I reboot catia and all starts working normaly. I have tested also the Sp3, same issues.

Are you sure you're getting the proper COM object (i.e. CATIA.Application)? Output the name or change the CATIA's caption to visually confirm that you're script is using the right COM object.
