CATIA Nodelock License Installation

I need licensing help. I am trying to install a Nodelock license through the utility. There is a license there that is expired. I select Clear from the list and it said it completed successfully. I import the new license and get an error that states

"The following licenses in the certificate file are not valid:
1:License not added;
Initial license already present"

I am trying to replace the expired license with a new license. What am I doing wrong?

Here is what we had to do several years back:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IBM\LUM

RENAME OLD NODELOCK
CLEAR OLD LICENSE
IMPORT NEW LICENSE

Thanks HGMorgan! It has been resolved but that was because the license was one day past expiration. I do not understand why I had to wait until it was actully expired before I could change it. Seems odd to me.
