Hi, I'm looking for the method on inserting a sketch template from one master sketch into multiple parts and features.

The "master" sketch is saved in a separate file, and the sketch "block" from this master file is inserted into a sketch on another part as one or multiple blocks/templates that aren't editable in the destination sketch.

I have done this before a few years ago so I know it's possible, I've just forgotten the process and cannot find a resource that explains how to do it.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I'm fairly certain it was not a powercopy.

Possibly a catalog, I'm not familiar with them. I'll look into that; the term does sound familiar.

I also don't think it's a copy & paste with link, but I'm not 100% sure.

For a little more detail, I remember it behaving like a Solidworks or AutoCAD sketch block. There's the original sketch geometry that is dimensioned. When it's copied/inserted into another sketch the internal geometry would be greyed out (internal dimensions hidden), and it could be constrained using normal sketch constraints & dimensions within its destination sketch.

If I figure this out I'll write up a PDF tutorial on this and post it here because it was incredibly useful, but I can't find this method in any Catia reference book or online.
