I have been having some modified read-only (MRO) issues while working in Assembly Design.
I have created an "Assy - Equipped Console.CatProduct" file. Into this assembly I have added various other sub-assemblies such that my tree structure looks like the following:
Assy - Equipped Console.CatProduct
Assy - Console Structure.CatProduct
Assy - Control Panel 1.CatProduct
Assy - Control Panel 2.CatProduct
Assy - Control Panel 3.CatProduct
Assy - Control Panel 4.CatProduct
I fixed the Console Structure assembly, and then proceeded to insert the four Control Panel assemblies.
All four of the Control Panel assemblies and the Console Structure assembly are saved and checked into SmarTeam. When I initially brought the control panels into the Equipped Console assembly there were no issues, however, once I applied any constraint to any of the Control Panel assemblies and ran an update, SmarTeam notified me that all four of the Control Panel assemblies had been modified in a read-only state and needed to be checked out.
I checked all four of the Control Panel assemblies out, ran SmarTeam Save and checked them back in. The assemblies no longer showed as modified read-only, but the next time my Equipped Console assembly required an update, all four of the Control Panel assemblies became modified read-only again.
I re-created the Equipped Console assembly from scratch and prior to constraining the Control Panel assemblies I ran Analyze>Update on all four of them and they are all up to date. As soon as I try to constrain them to the Console Structure assembly they are again, modified read-only.
I ran a Save As and saved the Control Panel 1 assembly to our network drive, brought this product in and and constrained the control panel to the Equipped Console assembly. As soon as I ran an update to apply the contraints and looked at Save Management, the Control Panel 1 assembly showed as being modified.
Finally, I recreated the Control Panel 1 assembly from scratch. All of the parts that make up the Control Panel assembly are saved and checked into SmarTeam. I brought this fresh local copy into my Equipped Console assembly, applied constraints, updated and checked Save Management and, voila, the Control Panel 1 assembly did not show as being modified.
This lead me to believe that SmarTeam was the culprit, so to confirm this, I saved and checked the local copy of the Control Panel 1 assembly into SmarTeam. I brought this new Control Panel 1 assembly into my Equipped Console assembly, constrained it, ran an update and, to my astonishment, the Control Panel 1 assembly was not modified read-only.
Now I am beginning to think that the CatProduct's for all four of the Control Panel assemblies have somehow been corrupted in SmarTeam, but I'm not sure how or when that would have happened.
I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what could be causing the issues I have been experiencing, and I'm hoping that there is a better solution than recreating all of my Control Panel assemblies. Has anyone else had a similar issue, or have any advice on what possible solutions there might be?
I appreciate any help, and apologize for the relatively long post.
FYI, I am running the following:
CATIA V5 R19 Service Pack 5
SmarTeam V5 R19 Service Pack 4
Windows 7 Enterprise Service Pack 1
