Hi

I' using Catia V5-6 2019 edition on an HP Workstation with SSD, an NVIDIA quadro M2000M, Intel I7 6700HQ and 16 GB Ram so it's not the last hardware on the market but still should be decent.
Until last week CATIA has alwasy run fluid and good but starting this week it start takes a lot of time in loading the very same assembly that I have been working from a lot of time, so what happens?

I tried to clear the CATReport and the CATTemp folders with no success.

Any suggestions?

Did you add any inertia measures or something similar? Those will try to update, depending on your update settings, and will slow it down. Check if your graphic driver auto-updated, those have caused issues also.

HI

Thanks for your reply.
Yes I did add the material (aluminium) to the whole assembly and indeed once I have removed it start loading smootly again. Also I discover this strange thing about the material property inside of desk:

Basically it associated all these images files to the material. I don't know what this image files have to do with the material proprerty anyway they slow down everything a lot because they are located inside CATIA installation folder so it may contribute to stuck everything.

Also my NVIDIA quadro M2000M autoupdate via windows update a few days ago, maybe I shoud remove the update, clean everything and download the package from the NVIDIA website?

Thanks.

The latest Nvidia driver isn't always the best option for V5. You can always look at the Desault website and see which ones are certified for V5. That being said, I've even had "certified" drivers cause issues with my particular installation of V5/PLM/other enterprise software on my work computer. My advise is stick with the one you know works.

Well more than a driver related issue with the graphics card it seems to me that this is a files reading problem because if I select the option to add material propeties to a part it takes an age to open the window with the material database, this is something that doesn't occur before. I don't know why it change. I have just updated to R29 SP5 hotfix 6 but nothing changed.

Trying to use 442.50nvidia driver that are certified for my mobile workstation but I confess that I'm skeptical that this could be related to my specific problem.

I have tried and nothing changed, as soon as ai click this icon:

to start material database option CATIA start loading for 10 minutes, and once I have add the material to the assembly it did the same thing at assembly opening. I suspect that this is because the images files assosiation showed in desk.

In the material library browser, from which you select the material to apply it, be sure to remove the 'Link to File' option in the bottom left corner. This will break the link between the material object and the Catalog from which it was applied. The Material object and its properties will then be 'embedded' in the model instead of an external link being created.

Hi there

I actually discover this yesterday, anyway thank you very much for that. I haven't understand the sense of the option "Link to File" anyway.

Thanks.
