Hello,
If I move from CATIA V5 to V6, can I save files in V5 format? I need to do this because some of our customers are on older V5 releases.

Thank you.

Yes, according to our Dassault rep today. The basic CATIA files can be converted back as editable solid files, but without parameters.

(I have not been able to verify this myself)

Good stuff, thanks Jack

I can verify jackk's comment, have tried it and it works.

they can be converted only to STEP/ IGES afaik, not the catpart files. that is more or less unusable, in my view.

Hello,
It's not possible !!
Just a catback utility without history or save as model (V4)
Or just save as STEP but it's very bad methodology !

What is not possible?? As Jack stated and I tried you can convert a V6 file into a V5 file that is editable but without features.

If you mean to convert a V6 file into V5 with features, that is ompossible.... but I hear rumours that in near future the impossible will be possible:)
