CATIA v5 DRAFTING

I created a drawing from Catia part-1 using Catia drafting.
Now I have Catia part-2 with some modifications and different features.
When i replace the the drawing link with this new Catia part-2 , the error message appears the link has been refused.


Could you tell what the possible reason for link refusal and suggest what is the solution?

Search Catia UUID to get a better understanding.

If you made part 1 plus the .catdrawing.
And then did a change to part 1, but when you saved the change as part 2 you checked the "Save as New Document" option.
This generates a new .catpart file with a new UUID and you will have problems getting drawing to link.

If you can redo the changes to part 1 and save as part 2, but leave the new document option unchecked, you will be good.





If the changes are too many, there are some macro script files out there/here that will get the drawing to link.

I have a macro for that which replaces drawing links. I encounter refusal a lot so we always use the macro.
