hello,

After I have created a view of the product I have made I would like to know if there is a way to suppress certain items out of that view (and not just using hide/show) to get rid of that part or product so I have a more clear drawing and it won't ask me for updates everytime when I have to unhide a product or part in that product!

Make the view you want with what you want to see and then lock the view until you need to update it.

how do i go about locking a view? i have right clicked on the view and looked as well as on the page on the right side and didn't c anything there either!

scratch that thought I have found it. So basically I hide/show what I want to see then lock the view. this will stop the view from updating and remaining what I want to see! is this correct?

i would not lock views... as it will be difficult to update them (you have to sort the product again).

I would have the complete product used for the view then I would use overlay property and turn "do not use" for the element you do not want in the view. Update will be much easier.

ok i have messed around with the overload properties and your correct it does get rid of the stuff i don't want to see, but the problem i have no noticed is that whatever other lines that the item i am hiding is crossing also will disappear as well just in that section so i have just open lines and no closed ones. do your computers do this as well i am on a UNIX box so things could be differnent or is there a way to bring those sections of the lines back?

you pick the "do not show"... you should have pick the "do not use" option...

Try again..
