Hello everyone,

I have been trying to learn DMU KInematics for a project i am working. I have created a very simple single piston engine type mechanism consiting of a crank shaft, connecting rod, and a cylinder (With a pin to hold the cylinder in place)and a block with a half circle to contain the piston. Within the assembly module i am able to use the manipulator with the respect to constraints check box on and i am able to correctly simulate the movement.

When i bring everything into the Kinematic module and allow the wizard to setup all the joints, then i have to activate every command before i can animate and when i do i can only animate one item at a time and not the whole assembly.

Anyone have any suggestions...comments...help...

Thanks.

If you want, you can send me your simplified model, Product with Parts to look at it, and after that I think I can help you

No Problem. Just let me know your e-mail and i'll zip-up the files. I would really appreciate the help. I just want to know what i'm doing wrong...

My e-mail is dimitar@isomatic.com.

But first of all, you dont have to use a wizard, it is no so good as you are when you define which constraints to translate into joints. You have to be careful what kind of joint you are make, cause diferent joints has diferent degrees of freedom and for any DOF you have to put a command.

I'll be glad to help you

regards
