I need to create several drawings that are exported to dxf files. I currently will orient the 3D part to a desired position, launch drafting and then select the face that I want a view of. I would like to automate this process but a macro would always select the same view.

Is it possible to create a VBA script or macro that would allow me to select which part surface on the 3D part is used to create the view

I am using Catia V5 18

Thanks for any help

Hi,

I don't know if it make sense to create a macro for this, depend on how many drawing you have to do.

I think is it possible to set a specific orientation for your part (and if is a standard one like ISO view is even easier), then start drafting workbench with a new drawing (which could be also a template), then start another command in this drawing.

Search this forum for an example how to switch between CATIA windows in different workbenches, the post was something like taking some parameters from 3D and insert them in drawing, I don't remember exactly the subject name but I remember I've post a macro there.

Fernando
