catiav4 models to step

hi all,

I need to convert one assembly which is done using catia v4. No i need to convert that entire assemly into step format.I have only catia v5 over here.Therefore my idea was to convert all to catia v5 and then to stpe.Therefore I tried by migrating it to v5 by using tools-utility-migrate v4tov5,but am getting batch error and catia is also getting terminated.So i request to please suggest if there is any method.Thanks in advance

Are you sure is it a v4 assembly or it is a v4 session? If I remember correctly, these are 2 different things....please correct me if I'm wrong.

You shouldn't have any error if you had all the models and not only the session.

Try also to run a CATDUAV5 before migration.

First of all how can i get the difference between session file and the model file.
how does catduav5 command help for this process

At a first view, you can check the size of the file, unfortunatly the extension name of the file is the same (model). If its big enough, for sure is a model file....

Check also the characters in the name of your file.....probably this is the issue...

I think i was successful a bit, i converted the catia v4 assy into design mode and then i saved directly as step.it was ok but some models are nto at the right place.
