Hi,

Does anybody else received this message regarding that German v5 forum?

Yes, it's offline, and it doesn't sound as if it's coming back online. As you may or may not know, the site owner wasn't very involved for the last few years, and it appears that he may have completely lost interest altogether.

The fact that nobody seems to know what is going on, is a pretty good indication that it isn't coming back anytime soon.

I could be wrong, and hope that I am.

Pity, it was one of the best forums (in fact, in my opinion, only Eng-tips, COE and that German forum are real forums).

By the way, can somebody recommend other forums?

I found one in French language, but it seems to be not so active, another German forum which is pretty good (and its only in German) and few others in English language but obviously not so active like those mentioned above.

I'm surprised that I couldn't find a Spanish or an Italian forum...maybe I didn't know where to search....

COE is not working today, or maybe it's just my connection, but I'm afraid that one is down too, and it would be a real shame.
There is one in french, I don't know if it's the same one you found:

but it's not nearly as good as COE or eng-tips.
I haven't found one in spanish yet.

It's just your connection. COE forums can be accessed with no problem.

Hmmm, I'm going to pay a visit to the networking people cause I haven't been able to log in to COE all day. Thanks for the clarification solid7.

I don't have a login with COE, so maybe I'm wrong, if you say that you can't log in. I just cruised over, and accessed the webpage. But I notice that you said "log in" in your reply, whereas you said "not working" before. I took "not working" in the broadest possible sense.

So to be clear - I can access the page, but have not tried to log in...

I was just logged on to the COE forum - it's working. In fact there were several new posts from today.

Yeap, I verified and apparently it was just my connection. What was happening was that I only got the cached version from my browser, but I couldn't access the site, or log in for that matter.
But about 5 minutes after solid posted his comment I was able to access again. Jeebs knows what the networking people were doing yesterday here at work.
