CatiaV5r2012 Snap or Compass move slow to respond - why?

Has anybody experienced a slow response with CatiaV5r2012 when trying to move a part
either by using snap or a compass move? The move will happen but seems like Catia is
thinking about the effort for a minute before the move actually happens.

What is further confusing is this does not happen all the time. Some designs everything works
great and fast.

Any ideas?

Here are a few suspicions fellow coworkers and myself have considered.
1. Too much data within a single CatPart
2. Design file is large. ( Example: current design loads in a total of 455 CatParts/Products )
3. Noticed: Hiding everything except for what you are directly working on speeds up response time of compass/snap

Haven't tried that but will see if a different system with a different card responds
differently. Right now the card being used is: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745

Tested on a different computer. Slow response of a snap or compass move was still
there but much faster in response time making me think my graphics card get's maxed
out on larger designs.

Another possibility is a saved measure (position or mass measurement, for example). Every time the part is moved a little, the measurement triggers to auto-update, which causes Catia to pause while the measure updates. Look for this in the 'Applications' node at the bottom of the tree.

There are some settings about this, for example in Tools > Options > General > Parameters and Measure > Measure Tools > There are two check boxes about Automatic Update in Part or Product. There might be an additional location, but I don't remember for sure.

I think MarkAF's post solved the issue!
I had 24 measures including one volume measure under that applications node.
The measures were basic XYZ point callouts for our customer. I deleted all of
them and snap/compass move has yet to stall!

Also, I/we adjusted a few settings on the NVIDIA control panel, under msconfig
changed cpu setting from 1 to 8, disabled some startup processes like
Adobe Update manager, and performance has improved.

Thanks!
