We have recently had to rename our material library. Now, many operators are getting desk errors, because the material library can not be found. Under Links for the files, it shows the link as broken for the material library. Is there a way to fix this issue, without having to reapply material to all parts using the new library and saving the files. I thought since I changed the file name under options, everything would be fine.

Should I check the box "Link to File" in the Apply Material window?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Has no one had this issue? I have been looking for a solution, but have been unable to find anything. It appears all our existing models have lost the link to the material library. All calculations and weights are incorrect (Using default). As mentioned, all we did was rename the library...all materials within the library are unchanged.
Is there no way to reassociate our existing components to the new library?
Again, should I use the "Link to file" option?

Thanks,

Rename it back.

CATIA in the File System uses the exact file names when it creates the links.

If you were using VPLM or VPM, the link is to the database identifier, and the user cannot change (or even see) that.

Can't rename it back. We have begun using MatrixOne. We have numerous other divisions and each had there own naming coventions. We are trying to standardize and that is the reason for the renaming of the file.
We are having to reapply material to every part prior to importing into matrixOne.
I was hoping there was a way to at least update the CATMaterial library at the product level.
