Is cement-lined DI pipe allowed under NFPA 14 for aboveground Class-I dry standpipe systems?

I checked NFPA 14-2019 (as well as an earlier edition that is applicable to the state), and could not find anything that prohibits its use.

Reason for asking is that the AHJ is stating that it is not allowed - mentioning it is stated in the NFPA 14 commentary. I could not find this.

Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

It's not specifically listed in Table 4.2.1, which is why the AHJ is questioning it's use. As an AHJ I would do the same. Per NFPA 14 Section 4.2.2 it does appear to be allowed when the pipe meets AWWA C151 per NFPA 14 Section 4.2.2. From a purely practical sense, expect a lot of questions from the pipe fitters if your building this system South of the Kansas border because I've never seen this pipe used inside of a building as part of the standpipe design.

Thanks stookey.

The dry standpipe is for a underground transit application, which is equivalent to a marine environment in terms of the corrosion. We wanted to propose a corrosion resistant solution without breaking the bank (i.e. going down the stainless route)
