Hi All,

I'm using NX 12.0.2.9 and have a supplier model that was previously imported.
It comprises of a mixture of solid bodies and (unsewn) surfaces.
Trying to measure it various ways to identify the CoG does not appear to work on a component comprised of mixed bodies.
I don't need the mass, that is given by the supplier but I need the CoG for Stress analysis.

Is it possible to get this as I've never tried it on a component with mixed geometry with unswen surfaces?

I've tried various attempts using Object, Object Set with and without object filters without success.
Using Component with Object / Object Set, the Component highlights but not results dialog is displayed.

Understandably the only time I get a result is if I let it select the solid bodies the results dialog displays the CoG for the selected Object Set, though incomplete.

It seem to be clear that using a mixture of object types especially unsewn bodies will not allow a CoG to be defined.
Have others had any experience with this and what approach has yielded a result?

I will experiment with attempting to sew the surfaces but typically that is not always work so smoothly.
I will also attempt to request a solid body from the supplier but do not know if this is possible.

Any suggestion and insight would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards

Tetragrammaton :)
