Hey,

I need to order a centrifugal pump for which I want to know that what parameters are necessarily required for ordering it.

The pump is to be installed for removing water from the condenser pit whose volume is known. Since the pump has to pull the liquid from the pit (Suctin Lift) which is also known. Furthermore water is then needed to pump along the horizontal pipe (No vertical pumping) towards the drain.

Kindly guide me what other parameters are required for pump selection.

Regards,
Saad Ahmed

Either a submersible sump pump for a small job or a vertical sump pump can be for your application based on the capacity, flow rate, the logistics, cost, etc. May consult with a pump vendor for a proper pump selection, if not a complicate system.

Head/discharge pressure, suction lift distance, fluid temp, flow rate, specific gravity, connection sizes, rotation speed, seal type to name a few.

Giving a few of the secret numbers wouldn't hurt, it might even get you some meaningful information.

It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts. (Sherlock Holmes - A Scandal in Bohemia.)

How to order it, is also part of the process...

- Single sourcing or competitive bid ?
- What technical criteria will you use to qualify / select between vendors...?

You should investigate which standard, if any, is to be applied.
