A fellow engineer and I own/race a BMW E36 in "low cost" endurance racing series.
The race series rules penalize racers based on cost of performance mods. Therefore it's not justified to go out and buy the latest greatest aero package from a race shop.
I'm interested to know if anyone here has performed CFD analysis on this car and would (if they can) share their results.
I would like to make calculated changes and less guessing.
Examples would be, where to locate hood vents/heat extractors, improvements from custom under tray, benefits of removing side mirrors, relieving pressure from wheel wells.
Here is an interested example I did find on youtube.
