I was looking for info on how to design chain sprocket teeth. Found some (old) posts on the subject but when I click the links that are mentioned in the replies, they're no longer available.
So, here's the question....
What is the form for chain sprocket teeth ?
In this particular design or a large diameter #41 chain/sprocket assembly, if a radius is drawn so that the roller of an adjoining link is free to leave the tangent circle of the sprocket, it all looks like it will work fine.
However, when compared to a purchased sprocket, it's as if they've further relieved the upper "curve" for ease of entry/exit.
When looking at a purchased 41B22 sprocket for instance, the teeth come almost to a point. But in my own drawing, it's much wider if using the radius like mentioned above for the large sprocket.
What am I missing here?
